Dr. William B. Weeks’ Awards and Accolades

Throughout his time as an academic and professional, Dr. William B. Weeks has earned many awards and accolades. He has been recognized for research excellence by the Fulbright Commission, the National Rural Health Association, and the National Chiropractic Medical Insurance Corporation. He has obtained millions of dollars in funding to further medical and healthcare research around the world. Many of his original research findings have been published.

He has also written more than 200 peer-reviewed articles. Many of them have been published in medical journals all around the world, including high-quality publications such as NEJM, JAMA, BMJ, JAMA Internal Medicine, Health Affairs, JGIM, Medical Care, HSR, Social Science and Medicine, and Health Policy. Dr. William B. Weeks has also earned numerous management and director positions.

Academically, Dr. William B. Weeks worked hard in all of his schoolings. During his undergraduate studies at Whitman College, he earned the title of Cum Laude with his exemplary grades. At Aix-Marseille University in France, he received high honors for his excellence in his Ph.D. program.

Though Dr. William B. Weeks has achieved great professional and personal success, he still has many things that he hopes to do in the future. He wants to continue traveling to places all over the world, specifically to Eastern Europe. Dr. William B. Weeks has published numerous articles and done large amounts of medical and academic writing but aspires to publish some works of fiction.


Professionally, he aims to have an impact on the healthcare field around the world. He believes that the healthcare systems in the United States and abroad need to be improved. Dr. William B. Weeks wants to take part in improving healthcare on a global level. He aspires to provide high-quality psychiatric and addiction services to each one of his patients.

In ten years, Dr. William B. Weeks wants to have contributed to global health reform, traveled to more places around the world, and expanded his appreciation for art.

Dr. Bill Weeks Outside the Office

Dr. Bill Weeks has achieved a lot not only in the academic and professional world but also at home in Lyme and outside of the office. He has six children to whom he is devoted. He has lived in the Upper Valley of New Hampshire for thirty years, deeply involving himself in the community as chair of the local school board and in many other ways. Despite his professional success, he still considers himself a little boy who thrives in Lyme, New Hampshire at heart.

After spending years studying for his Ph.D. in France, Dr. Bill Weeks’ love of architecture and art intensified. He especially appreciates impressionist and post-impressionist art and artists such as Berthe Morisot. The landscape and environment of Lyme provide him with the ideal setting to pursue his interests in the cross country and downhill skiing, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, and rowing. He also enjoys writing, reading, and taking part in other recreational activities.

Bill Weeks’ Education

Bill Weeks Lyme is highly educated and intelligent. He obtained his Bachelor of Sciences in Chemistry and Biology in 1984. William went to Whitman University in Walla Walla, Washington and graduated Cum Laude. He then went on to get his medical doctorate in 1988, from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. This history illustrates the hard work he has put into his scholastic career. His quest for education and enlightenment has taken him around the country and internationally.

After many years as a medical professional and researcher, Weeks went back to school, expanding his knowledge to other fields of study. He attended the prestigious Columbia University in New York City, New York in 2006, where he achieved his Master of Business Administration with high honors. Finally, in 2014, Bill Weeks Lyme traveled to the beautiful Marseille, France to attend Aix-Marseille University. In France, he got his Ph.D. in Economics with high honors. His dedication to education shows further in his participation on the local school board.

Dr. William Weeks has been extremely successful not only in the academic and professional world but also at home in Lyme. He has lived in the Upper Valley of New Hampshire for thirty years. Dr. William B. Weeks has worked hard since he was young and, as a result, has achieved great professional success. He has worked at Dartmouth College in various roles since 2008. One of his roles at Dartmouth is a professor and senior research scientist. In that role, he has published more than 150 peer-reviewed articles. Some of his first publications appeared in established and well-respected journals such as NEJM, JAMA, BMJ, JAMA International Medicine, Health Affairs, JGIM, Medical Care, HSR, Social Science and Medicine, and Health Policy. He has also managed to secure large amounts of grant funding to further medicine around the world.

From 1992 to 2008, Dr. William B. Weeks worked at the Department of Veterans Affairs in Vermont. At the Department of Veterans Affairs, he held roles as a senior researcher and mentor, internal consulting and management, and clinician. While there, he wrote numerous proposals, established programs, conducted research, and had a variety of other impacts.

A Brief Biography of Dr. William B. Weeks

Who Is Dr. William B. Weeks? 

Dr. William B. Weeks is a board-certified and fully licensed practicing addiction psychiatrist. Currently, he works with Pinewood Medical Associates and The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice, where he is a professor, as well as an avid contributor to many other aspects of the college.


He attended Whitman College in 1984, where he earned a bachelor of chemistry and biology and graduated Cum Laude. Right after his undergraduate schooling, Dr. William B. Weeks received his medical doctorate from the University of Texas Medical Branch. A little over ten years later, he worked to get his master of business administration from Columbia University and then a PhD in economics from Aix-Marseille University in France. 

Dr. William B. Weeks has lived with his family in the Upper Valley of New Hampshire for three decades. He has six children. In his spare time, Dr. William B. Weeks enjoys skiing, running, swimming, and various other water activities. He also loves impressionist and post-impressionist art.
